world famous Addo Elephant National Park, founded originally to protect the elephants of Addo, has now become a "Big Five" game park and the premier tourist attraction of South Africa's Eastern Cape.

 

Here visitors from all over the world come to get up close and personal with the game in a malaria-free environment.  Others also enjoy the bird life, not to mention the flightless dung beetle which is unique to this small area.

 

A short drive away from the main gate of the Elephant Park lies an oasis of luxury accommodation for the visitor who wishes to stay in comfort and eat well while he enjoys his time in the area.

 

This is the Addo Elephant Country Estate which is situated just outside the tiny hamlet of Addo itself on a small estate of 17 hectares.
